On Monday, January 5th, my Tim Gunn's Guide to Style tear-away calendar read, "You do have a tailor, don't you? Unless you know how to sew, begin searching for a good one today. One never knows when an emergency hem situation might arise."

He must have known that just two days after reading this, I would be wearing pants that are MUCH too long during a wintery-mixed weather day and wishing that someone could hem my brand-new pants immediatly.

He tried to help.

I put a vote into not ever hemming pants yourself ... just ask Lynne about the time I made her job interview pants a bit too short .....

My mom told me on the phone the other day that she would stop talking to me if I didn't get my pants hemmed (now that I'm a working "professional" again).

I laughed. And then immediately thought of you and this post.
